The Surrey & Sussex Supply Management Confederation (now superceded by a regional procurement hub) was formed to provide procurement services to acute and primary trusts across Surrey and Sussex, with a view to creating greater market leverage.
How We Helped
The Confederation was tasked with tendering orthopaedic implant expenditure across the whole of Surrey. A Phillips Consulting specialist was assigned to the existing Confederation team to provide support and assistance. Working in close collaboration with the existing team an extremely high level of clinician engagement was achieved, resulting in highly successful negotiations with suppliers.
The tendering process was completed successfully and new contract awarded that will generate annual savings exceeding £325,000 across the county.
